A Message from Our Chair
As the Chair, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the 5th Annual Go Red for Women Luncheon. The luncheon kicks off our yearlong campaign and your presence is helping to make 2010 a success. The money that we raise today and throughout the year will be used locally to promote education and awareness regarding heart disease in women.
This is a landmark event, as we are celebrating the Go Red for Women movement. Heart disease is the leading cause of death among women. In fact, a woman dies every minute of cardiovascular disease. Eighty percent of cardiac events in women may be prevented if women make the right choices for their hearts. Exercise, diet and abstinence from smoking are the keys to prevention.
Holly Clegg, the co-chair for this year’s event has designed a heart healthy lunch for your enjoyment. Additionally, we hope that you found the free screenings, health information, and fashion show beneficial. The theme for the National Go Red movement this year is “Speak Up to Save Lives”. Thank you for giving a voice to Go Red.
